INSPIRE | Thinking outside your marquee

Creating both an indoor and outdoor vibe for your wedding day is so crucial for the Summer months. Utilising spaces by creating pockets where your guests can relax, catch up and enjoy, while also making those spaces practical and resourceful for your catering options, bar area and guest size.

It can feel overwhelming, especially on a private property or a space that is large, so we love to offer inspiration to our clients as they walk this path towards their dream wedding day.

Our team always suggest to our clients the following, which can help make decisions, when planning your outdoor spaces and flow from inside to outside of your marquee;

  • Do you have shaded areas within your space? During the summer months, make sure you have pockets of shade surrounding your outdoor area.

  • Older guests may not want to sit on a bar stool, so think about creating a lounging area designated for them. Where they can relax in the shade, in a comfortable lounge, and guests can come to them.

  • Are you serving canapes and cocktails? If so, you want to make sure there are plenty of surfaces to pop a drink, or place a canape throughout the afternoon and evening.

  • Is there enough light within your venue space to light your outdoor area as the sun goes down? Remember that you guests will naturally gravitate outside after dinner on a beautiful, warm evening, and making sure there is enough light is crucial to keeping the vibes high and your guests safe.
